Mental Health Therapy for Lasting Change
Therapy at Oria Health
Therapy at Oria relies on listening first. We take the time to understand what’s bringing you in, what you’ve already tried, and what kind of support will actually help, not just in sessions but in daily life.
We offer compassionate, evidence-informed therapy for adolescents and adults, with in-person and virtual options available.
How Mental Health Therapy Supports Real Change
Impactful change is never about one moment or getting things right immediately. It’s about consistency: putting effort into understanding and healing every day.
At Oria Health, mental health treatment focuses on helping you make sense of what’s actually going on, not just on talking through surface-level concerns. We work with you to identify patterns, understand where they come from, and address how they show up in your daily life.
From there, we help you build more effective ways of responding so change feels practical, not overwhelming. Whether you’re dealing with burnout, relationship stress, or a major transition, our mental health counseling is designed to help you gain clarity, feel more in control, and move forward in a way that lasts.
Why Patients Choose Oria Health for Mental Health Therapy
At Oria Health, we bring the best of both worlds: the warmth of a community clinic and the expertise of a large-scale psychiatric center. That is why the community in Texas prefers us for clinical mental health counseling.

Who We Serve
Adolescents
For adolescents, therapy is focused on creating a space where they can speak openly and feel understood. We help them make sense of their emotions, build resilience, and develop healthier coping strategies. When helpful, we also involve parents to support consistency and progress outside of sessions.
Adults
For adults, therapy focuses on understanding patterns that impact daily life, whether related to work, relationships, or past experiences. We help clarify what’s contributing to stress or uncertainty and provide practical strategies that support more steady, manageable progress over time.
Conditions We Support Through Therapy
- Depression and low mood
- Anxiety and panic
- Trauma and PTSD
- Stress, burnout, and life transitions
- Grief and loss
- Relationship and family challenges
- Emotional regulation challenges
- Identity, self-esteem, and personal growth.
What Success Can Look Like
- Feeling more steady during life transitions or periods of uncertainty.
- Processing trauma or past experiences that continue to affect daily life.
- Learning healthier ways to cope with stress, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm.
- Improving emotional regulation and impulse control.
- Developing tools to navigate relationships more confidently.
- Gaining insight into patterns that keep you feeling stuck, and learning how to shift them.
- Feeling more focused, motivated, and engaged in daily life.
- Building skills that support long-term well-being, not just short-term relief.
Therapy is not about “fixing” you; it’s about helping you understand yourself better and move forward with more clarity and confidence.
Therapeutic Approaches We Use
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Our clinicians draw from a range of evidence-based approaches and tailor care to your needs, goals, and preferences.
Approaches may include:
Trauma-Informed Therapy
This practice approaches care with an understanding of how trauma affects the nervous system, emotions, and relationships, prioritizing safety and choice.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Helps identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to distress.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Focuses on building psychological flexibility; learning to handle challenging thoughts while moving toward what matters most.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Uses structured techniques to help the brain process traumatic memories so they become less emotionally intense.
Mindfulness-Based Approaches
Build awareness of thoughts, emotions, and body sensations to improve emotional regulation and reduce reactivity.
Somatic and Body-Based Strategies
Focus on the mind-body connection, helping regulate the nervous system through physical awareness and movement.

Mental Health Therapy FAQs
What can I expect in my first therapy session?
Do you offer in-person or telehealth therapy?
Yes. We offer both virtual and in-person therapy so care can fit your life and needs.
Telehealth is available to clients throughout the state.
We currently offer in-person therapy at our Killeen location and San Antonio locations.
Some clients choose one format, while others benefit from a hybrid approach over time.
Are there situations where telehealth may not be recommended?
Yes. While telehealth works well for many people, there are times when in-person or hybrid care is the safest or most effective option.
We may recommend in-person or hybrid therapy if any of the following apply:
- A child is under six years of age.
- An individual experiences active psychosis (such as hallucinations or delusional thinking).
- An individual is in active detox from alcohol or controlled substances.
- A child or teen is on the autism spectrum or being evaluated for autism.
- An individual is nonverbal and relies entirely on a caregiver for communication.
- An individual is in an acute crisis, with active risk of harm to themselves or others (In these cases, we’re happy to explore therapy options after stabilization).
What if I start therapy and realize my provider isn’t the right fit?
That can happen, and it’s okay.
Therapy works best when there’s a strong sense of safety and connection. If you feel our therapist isn’t the right fit, you can let them or our customer experience team know, and we’ll help you transition to another provider.
Do you take insurance for therapy?
Yes. Our therapists are in-network with all major insurance providers.
If you plan to use insurance, we’ll match you with a provider who is both in-network and well-suited to your needs, and we’ll review any expected out-of-pocket costs ahead of time so there are no surprises.
How long does therapy usually last?
Can therapy be combined with medication or other treatments?
We Accept All Major Insurance Carriers

We’ll help verify coverage and any estimated out-of-pocket costs beforehand, so there are no surprise charges.
